Lately I’ve been loving keeping my makeup simple and straight to the point and over the past month, have had a lot of fun playing around with a few new makeup products along the way. I’m currently over the whole, complicated smokey eye look and have been really focusing on defining the natural features of my face even more. I’ve found that sticking to a routine for months on end can kind of get you into a makeup rut. I was doing the same thing day in and day out and not being satisfied with the results. I decided to strip down my routine and really focus on what catches the eye most. For me that’s pouty lips, an extended eye, and face framing brows. When perfected, these three aspects of the face make a huge difference in your overall appearance. I found that extending my lash line with some extra falsies, winged liner, and a nude pencil for the waterline was the trick to making my eyes appear a lot larger. There’s something about extending the lash line and adding extra definition to your lashes that makes the world of a difference in framing your face. I stopped doing it for a few months and tried it out again over this holiday weekend and fell back in love. After that, I focused on a simple and natural base with a good foundation and matte bronzer like this one from Benefit. Then I took a lip pencil, similar to the shade of my natural lip color and just slightly over lined my lips a touch, to create an even more pouty lip look. Then I used my favorite Anastasia product to define my brows and create more of an arch. Winging out my liner always makes me feel ten times more glam.
