When you’ve been with someone for almost three years things start to get…repetitive. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. I’m just saying it become a comfortable norm to stay in the routine of certain things. For us it’s pretty technical stuff mixed in with being giant foodies and wanting to try every cuisine in the world…Work on the blogs. Take outfit pictures. Watch Netflix. Go to Cars and Coffee. Cook dinner. Visit friends. And repeat. For most students in college, travel and excitement is not always an option. Especially for Doug working full time now. I long for the days of planning trips, decorating apartments and homes, getting a dog, shopping…everything that’s trivial and exciting. But for now, it’s just time passing until we start our lives together. A lot of dreaming and planning and dreaming again. It’s what young people do. And it’s ok. Sometimes even the littlest of things can switch it up. Like visiting his family in Santa Cruz or taking a Staycation. I’m content with that. Having the right people in your life will prevent you from longing for the future because with them everything seems right no matter the time or place.

Awww, so cute, Hayley. Life is exciting when there are things to look forward to. When that ends, so does the longing for living to the next day.
