Meet Hayley

Let me tell you, hair is a hot topic amongst me and my closest friends. That’s mainly because they’ve seen me go through so many hair disasters over the years that I’ve finally had to call it quits to doing anything to it until after my wedding. It’s been tough for me to go a full year without switching it up because I love change, but I don’t want to chance it! I’ve also seen amazing results at repairing my damaged hair by not styling it as much and by applying Biosilk Silk Therapy to the ends of my wet hair after I get out of the shower. I’ve been using Biosilk for years and actually all the women in my family do too! I was first introduced to this silk treatment back in high school, but rarely used it because I’m super oily and thought it would make my hair look greasy. I realized that’s totally not the case when applied correctly and with the right amount. Just a dime size and it can take the frizz out of your hair and help repair split ends, making your hair feel nice and silky just like you came from a salon! I couldn’t live without a smoothing serum because my hair gets super frizzy and dry in the winter.

Now onto the tutorial! I start by brushing my hair out completely. I do quite a bit of brushing in between curling my hair to make sure my hair is without frizz and retains the soft waves I’m looking to achieve. To do this I use my favorite brush from Sonia Kashuk because it has a mix of boar hair and heat resistant nylon, which keeps hair smooth and fights frizz.

I love using a big, 1-1/2 inch ceramic barrel to curl my hair and then wait 10-20 minutes for it to set and then begin brushing out the ends very gently. This gives a natural wavy affect that is my updated version of 40s hair. It’s always my go-to style because its so feminine and fits well with any outfit or occasion.

Then I apply a dime size amount of Biosilk to my ends and any place that I may have frizz.

I like to brush everything out with a comb to keep the curls in place and I’m pretty much done! If I know I’ll be out all day I like to spritz the curls with a light layer of hairspray, but since this was mid day that wasn’t needed this time. This hairstyle has become such a routine of mine that it takes me only 15 minutes in the morning!
