Cold is an understatement during winter in New York. Coming from a constant seventy-five degree weather forecast, it was a little difficult to adjust to the freezing temperatures, which were dropping even after we left. That’s why a heavy wool coat was very necessary. Since I only had one really cozy coat in my wardrobe, I wanted to stock up on a few knowing the weather forecast in NY, so I turned towards H&M because of their selection of good quality outerwear for a relatively affordable price. Besides this boxy, oversized coat, this one and this one are also fashionable pieces that are perfect for freezing temps. Paired with a muted lilac felt hat and my favorite Vince Camuto leather booties, I was prepared to brave the storm that happened just after these photos were taken.

Battery Park was such a fun experience because it’s right at the end of Manhattan and while visiting the park, we were able to fit in a lot of other sight seeing activities throughout our day. The 9/11 Memorial is a must see if you’ve never been. It truly was a moving experience that every American should see once in their lifetime. We also walked up and down Wall Street and had the best NY pizza! Stay tuned next week for a peek into where we stayed in NY!
