I told Doug that all I wanted for my birthday this year was to go on a family picnic in Palos Verdes so we took a quick trip along the coast to hunt down the best spot overlooking the ocean. One of my goals for 2017 is to get out and explore our area more. If you don’t already know, we aren’t Los Angeles natives. We moved here two years ago from Orange County and still consider ourselves fairly new to the area. LA is HUGE and we live in the southern coastal part of it so there is still so much we have yet to experience and see. I visited Palos Verdes last year on a whim while driving around with Doug and haven’t forgotten its beauty since. It’s right up against a winding two lane road of the pacific coast highway with lush green rolling hills to the left and the bright blue ocean to the right. It’s definitely not something I’ll ever get used to living right by. We pulled up next to some huge Cape Code style houses and I got out to see if this was a good spot to picnic and of course on our first try it was amazing! Our own little private cove to ourselves. This is just one of the many reasons we love living where we do. There was only one other person perched on the cliffside playing his guitar faintly in the distance. It was so picturesque! I can’t wait for Annabelle to experience these moments with us when she’s a little older and not sleeping so much:)
What a beautiful place! Sounds like a perfect way to spend a day and celebrate your birthday!
Happy belated birthday!! ??

Happy Birthday Hayley
I love your picture of Lunada Bay. My husband actually grew up down the street and proposed to me at the point in your first picture. I want to surprise him with a big picture for his office and you caught the bay on such a clear day. Is there any way you’d be willing to email me the photo so I can get it printed?
