My style has slowly transformed over the course of my time spent blogging and as I’m coming up on a year of blogging at DDD, I’ve noticed a significant change in my fashion taste. When I first started my blog, I wore a lot of dresses (see this post and this post). I always felt the most comfortable in a dress and to some people that may be the opposite, but to have the option of just throwing on one piece of clothing and barely having to style it is a quick way to look put together without any effort. Now, that’s not always true depending on the outfit, but I always had those pieces that were in my “comfort zone.” My love of femininity and “darling-ness” definitely hasn’t changed, but what has changed are the elements of sophistication  I incorporate into every outfit here and there recently. Transforming my personal style from once college student to new grad has been a difficult task. Weeding out all the poor quality pieces that I once used to fill my closet with while on a budget was a challenge in itself, but the fun part had to be choosing pieces that fit the lifestyle I strive for. Clothes really does speak to who you are and who you want to become and I’ve truly noticed that this Fall, as it’s the only season that I’ve taken fashion pictures on my blog two years in a row during. Adding elements to your wardrobe that mean something to you is a great way to take ownership in what you wear and how you look. That’s why for me investing in staples pieces like this LOFT tweed skirt really speaks to who I am currently.

That is a stunning skirt, and I like it paired with the burgundy scarf! 🙂 It is always an interesting change when you start shopping to build up a quality wardrobe, instead of just buying things on sale that you like without thinking how they work with what you’ve got or your lifestyle. A fun journey that never really ends! 🙂
