I'm Hayley — helping moms do more in every aspect of their life. Mom of 3, entrepreneur, and homeschooler!

Meet Hayley

Anyone that has a toddler knows snack time is always taken seriously! I’ve never been a snacker so buying healthy snacks has been a slight learning curve for me. There are days where I’ll spend the extra time homemaking granola/breakfast bars or three ingredient muffins and other days where I’ll buy cheese snacks in a bag for an on the go quick fix, it all depends on the day!

Now that I’ve been transitioning to a more non-toxic lifestyle, I really pay attention to what I’m feeding my kids (well, Annabelle as Scarlett is only 4 months old). A few rules I try and stick to are:

  • Avoid bringing processed foods into our home
    • Swap store-bought bread for homemade bread
    • Swap unhealthy snacks for whole foods
    • Swap sauces and spreads for ones made from scratch
  • Only eat out twice on the weekends
  • Make 1 homemade snack to last us throughout the week

Now, these rules aren’t always followed as sometimes life is chaotic, but it’s what I aim for when I do my weekly shop on Instacart on Sunday evenings. We also put all of Annabelle’s snacks in these Ziptucks from Full Circle. They are the best!! If you can’t tell they are reusable storage baggies that are super easy to clean with the cutest prints! We not only use them for snacks, but for beauty products/tools and electronics as seen in the picture above. They are also leak proof with an air-tight “lock” seal design and stores flat for easy packing and storage.

Because I’ve challenged myself to eat cleaner throughout the week, here are a few snack ideas we’ve been making/buying that we all enjoy!

  • 3 ingredient cookies: Mix 1 cup quick oats, 1 super ripe banana, handful of raisins – bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 minutes
  • 2 ingredient ice cream: Blend 1 ripe frozen banana & 1 tbsp. of cocoa powder for chocolate banana ice cream!
  • Green smoothie (we make a couple times a week!): Handfull of spinach, splash of almond milk, chia seeds, flax seeds, honey, 1 carrot, half a frozen banana, mixed berries – I never measure, I just throw it all in!
  • Fruits: Clementine’s, mixed berries, apples & peanut butter, banana, mango, grapes, etc.
  • Prepackaged snacks for days where we’re rushed
    • Yogurt covered pretzels – I get mine from Sprouts
    • String cheese & crackers
    • Pirates Bootie
    • Annie’s snacks – chocolate/cheddar bunnies
    • Once Upon A Farm fruit squeezies
  • Veggies (carrots, celery, cucumber, bell pepper) with homemade sauce: mayo, plain yogurt, olive oil, garlic powder, salt/pepper, lemon, mustard (recipe under my Instagram highlights labeled‘low carb’)
  • Dried fruit
  • Plain yogurt & vanilla almond granola

What are a few of your go-to toddler snack ideas? I’d love to hear to mix things up!
