***WARNING! If you are on a budget click away!!;)

I rarely do fashion related posts anymore because lets be honest…dreaming about shopping isn’t best on the wallet! BUT if there is one thing that I’m looking forward to this year, it is getting out of my “Mom rut”. You guys probably have no idea what I’m referring to, so let me lay it out there for you. Becoming a Mom took a toll on me in so many ways this past year. I swear it gave me more wrinkles, made me start balding (THANK YOU postpartum hair loss!!!), my skin is drier, and I’m wearing sweats 99% of the time. To put it frankly, I haven’t been feeling cute anymore like I used to. It’s just not my priority! However, I want to start feeling myself and putting more effort into how I look. That might sound vain for those that aren’t interested in things of this nature, but fashion is one of my passions and putting together outfits used to be a fun hobby of mine! I love wearing funky pieces and stepping outside the norm with my style and having a baby has put that on the back burner, which is OKAY, but I miss it!! I want to feel me again.

I want to preface this post with the fact that I have a new outlook on my wardrobe going forward. I want quality over quantity. I wear my things for years and years. Why not invest in something that will hold up? I am also a designer brand lover. I have a few designer pieces and let me tell you, it’s more than just a label. Those pieces have stood the test of time and have lasted YEARS! Rather than having 15-20 pieces from H&M, I’d rather have 1 designer piece. With that being said, here is my 2018 wish list. It’s not budget friendly, but these items will most likely be purchased throughout the course of a year. I also want to say that although some of these are designer, I still do budget and use the Dave Ramsey method for every purchase. I have a set amount to save for our future and as long as we meet that each month (and bills of course) the rest is for fun/travel!

Tods Loafers – I know you’re probably thinking “HAYLEY! These loafers are ridiculously expensive!” But I love love love them. Old man loafers are my jam. They are so comfy and so practical for everyday wear.I plan on getting them preloved here, here, or here! They transition from season to season so nicely and hold up forever! I have worn a pair similar to these for the past 5 years and they are finally getting ripped. I also love these white ones.

Tory Burch Tassel Tote – I think part of the reason I’ve felt like I’m in a “Mom slump” is that I carry a worn diaper bag around with me on the daily. After years of wearing cute purses I miss them!! I’m in love with this TB one…not sure which color though;)

This LV Wallet – The current wallet I have is a huge fat Hobo wallet that is disintegrating because I love it so much. Unfortunately they don’t make that style anymore, so this is my next big splurge! These things last for 20 years!

Everyday Gold Stud Earrings – Most of my earrings aren’t real (aka gold/silver) so they tarnish my ears quick. I want a pair for everyday that I can wear in the shower and not have to worry about.

This Lash Serum – Since having lash extensions on and off for the last 2 years, my lashes definitely aren’t as long as they used to be. A ton of my blogger friends swear by this stuff and their lashes are SO LONG. One girl even trims hers! Not sure if that’s genetics or a combination of that and the serum, but I’m sold!! *I have to wait until I’m done breastfeeding though:)

Getting my hair professionally balayaged – This is LONG overdue. I have box died my hair for years because lets be honest, when you’re on the “get out of student loan debt” struggle bus, dying your hair is last on your list (well last after eyelash extensions LOL). My hair color is so so bad right now. I booked an appointment with a stylist in Charleston to hopefully achieve the subtle change in the pic above. Pray that my hair doesn’t turn out orange like it always does!

T3 Curling Iron (More specifically the 1.75” wand) – I have wanted this curling iron for YEARS! I’m ashamed to admit this, but I probably have 20 different hot tools. I hate them all! They all don’t heat up fast enough and the barrel is too small for my shorter hair. This year I’m taking the plunge and getting this set (when it goes on sale). I swear it’s every bloggers holy grail hair product.

Tory Burch ‘Miller’ Sandal – You guys know I’m a flip flop girl. I literally wore flip flops daily in CA. Although Charleston is a bit colder in the winter, one of my favorite things about this city is that there are still as many (just about) sunny days here as there are in Southern California. So that means I still get to wear my flip flops! I’ve been lusting after this particular pair since I lived in my sorority house in college!! I just couldn’t justify spending $200 on sandals…until now. If I wear something to death and almost everyday, why not get the ones I want!?

Up my sneaker game with these tennies – I wear tennis shoes more and more since becoming a Mom. These are such a pretty pale pink color and so wearable!

Natori ‘Feathers’ Bra – I wear sports bras on the reg…and when I say on the reg I mean almost every day of the week. I have forgotten what it’s like to feel like a normal women! This bra is at the top of my list as it seems to be everyone’s #1 pic for most comfortable and durable bra.

Love this! I’m trying to get out of the Mom rut. Let me say it’s been a struggle for me. I’ve been trying to do my makeup every morning and trying to do something for myself once a month

Yes! I’m the same way with my daily looks. I’m not a mother, but I’m just so insecure about myself sometimes that I always just go back to what I feel comfortable in: a t-shirt and jeans. I want to get out of that this year!

P.S. I’ve been dying for the Natori feathers bra! It looks so comfortable, but classy at the same time. (Of a bra can be classy. Lol)

I love the haircolor inspiration pic! I can’t wait to see how it turns out! As for the feeling a little frumpy and not quite “you”, I totally get it. I’m just now starting to think about getting back to myself and my baby girl is 7 months old. It’s a struggle. It feels like every waking moment is centered around the baby. Not a bad thing necessarily, but it takes a toll on you. On a personal note, I think you look great, Hayley! You’re definitely an inspiration to this mom!

I love this blog! but I recommend getting a hot tool that is made out of titanium rather than ceramic. Especially when you get your hair done Titanium is so much better for you hair!!!

  5. LOVE that handbag!! Been looking for one for my next Birthday and even though pink is something I never picture, I think I’m loving this one.

Loved this! My daughter is about to be 3 months and I am rocking sweats all the time and my hair is always in a messy bun. I’m about to head back to work and it is bittersweet because I’m so anxious about not being with her all the time but it will be nice to get back to feeling like myself. I love your honesty and all of your videos. I am so happy that you are going to treat yourself because you are an amazing mom that deserves it!

I really enjoy your posts, and especially love this one! I can resonate with the feeling of getting out of the “ Mom Rut” I’m inspired to also create my own wish list/ vision board. Thank you for sharing

Love your post and your videos! I suggest trying the Ardell Magnetic Lashes, they got a lot of hate online but I’m not sure why! I’m obsessed with both the half and full sets ?
