Although I’ve lived fairly close to the beach my entire life, there’s nothing like driving a few minutes from your house and hitting the sand. Since moving to the western side of Los Angeles, I’ve begun to realize how important it is for me to enjoy the area I live in and the people I surround myself with. Those two things combined really make up my happiness and after spending a few months exploring Los Angeles (mainly Manhattan Beach), I’ve grown to love the area I moved to. At first when Doug told me he got a job in Los Angeles I wasn’t exactly thrilled. I’ve lived in/near Orange County my entire life and for anyone that lives either in the OC or LA they know that the people and vibes are completely different. I wasn’t sure how I would fit in with the LA scene, but since we live near the beach and away from the Hollywood area, things are a bit more laid back like I’m used to. The Manhattan Beach pier is one of my favorite places to come right at sunset. On a clear day you can see all the way from Palos Verdes to Malibu and the selections of boutiques and restaurants are endless. I picked up this Alaia Beach Dress last month and have only now gotten a chance to wear it. Since tassels are a big trend for spring and summer, I knew I would get a lot of use out of it as a beach cover-up. Paired with my go-to white Jack Rogers, it’s perfect for a beach day ended with a beautiful sunset.
