There’s a quiet peacefulness that settles when the holidays are over. No more decorating, gorging yourself with goodies and feeling guilty for it, worrying about presents unwrapped or unbought, and life seems to go back to normal. Routine is always comforting. I love the winter time in California because not everyone is going to the beach on the weekends and the locals are forced to spend their time indoors with their loved ones instead of on the beach having bonfires or swimming in their backyards. For a few months out of the year, it’s a different lifestyle from what we are used. During this time I love to go to the movies, read a good book, and it gets me in the spirit of baking more. All things of which are done indoors…but of course, I still crave that sunshine after a few weeks. I’m so blessed to live where I do.
The feminine details of this outfit have an added 50’s inspiration. The tulle skirt and bow, jeweled peter pan collar, and sequined heels make an average night out feel instantly more glam.
Wishing you all a happy New Year from my home to yours.
