I’m currently on an airplane writing this post on my way to Vermont for a work trip and looking at these pictures is making me so sad! I hate going away for long periods of time and this trip will last three weeks! Luckily Doug and I have managed to compile enough blog posts to stay current while I’m away. Yesterday we tried a new sushi restaurant near our house for a date night right before I left and we had the best time. It’s funny how travel or long distance can make two people feel nostalgic all of a sudden, but it definitely does! I look at some of my friends in long distance relationships and don’t know how they do it! My heart really controls my daily life and I guess coping without your other half although difficult, you would probably get used to it after a while. Maybe it is because Doug and I live together that I’ve never been given that chance.
Okay, enough “life talk” and onto the blog post/outfit. When I unpacked this jumpsuit with a friend sitting by she immediately screamed “Oh my gosh, that looks like it’s from Grease!” (aka the movie – for those of you who aren’t familiar with late 70’s American pop culture;) After she said that I knew it was meant to be because Sandy’s outfit during the end scene was to die for! If you haven’t noticed (see here & here), I’m a huge fan of off the shoulder pieces. They accentuate the collarbone and are the perfect summer staple piece. I love how this jumpsuit flows out with a wide leg frame and accentuates the smallness of the waist. To break up the black I added a gold belt and a pop of blue in this Clare Vivier clutch. I actually wore this outfit out to dinner with Doug and got so many compliments! Probably because it was a bit edgy, but I’m okay with that! There are so many jumpsuits I’m loving at the moment like this red one (my FAV!), this crisp white one, and this open back piece. I’m not sure how long I will get away with wearing these summer pieces since we’re almost to fall, but I have a feeling this California weather is going to stay nice for a while.
