I own a lot of dresses, but there always seems to be that certain little black dress that finds its way to the front of my closet. Being in a sorority throughout college, it was crucial that each member in my chapter owned at least one LBD for events, formals, or recruitment every fall. Since graduating I haven’t needed to wear one on such a regular basis and the ones I did own, I’ve worn out completely so I thought it was time to invest in a more sophisticated silhouette like this one from Revolve Clothing. There’s nothing I love more than a well tailored and fitted dress that hugs you in all the right places. Although I would consider myself a modist girl, the only way I get away with showing a little skin is in sheer dresses and crop tops with midi skirts. I liked this dress particularly because it went outside my comfort zone with the cut out paneling while still retaining a feminine shape. Revolve has so many high quality pieces that are perfect for special occasions like this pale pink piece I was tempted of buying, this striped two piece, and this dress that would be perfect to wear as a bridesmaid!
I rarely talk about the behind the scenes of running a blog, but I am just so excited about these pictures that I thought I would share. If you have seen my Instagram lately, you’ll know Doug and I purchased a new camera and lens! We thought that after a year and a half of blogging, that it was time to invest in higher quality equipment and I’ve never been so satisfied with a purchase before. After reading countless reviews on the Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 6D, we came to the conclusion that the 6D would produce just as good quality images with a better price point yet remaining a full frame camera. We also chose the 24-105mm F4 lens because it was the most versatile for what what types of shooting we do and in our opinions, my pictures are lightyears better than before (we used a Canon T3i camera with a 50mm and 18-135mm lens). I never thought I would be so into photography, but there really is something satisfying in producing a beautifully curated image. From taking the photo to editing it and seeing the final result, it’s a passion Doug and I both share.
