A dear friend came from Arizona to visit me over the weekend and we had a blast. It’s funny how life is. You think you really understand how amazing a place is until you leave it. She grew up in California and ever since she’s left, she is always reminding me to treasure the weather, people, and time I have here in Southern Cali because you never know when you might leave it. Living here has really been amazing, but ever since I started traveling I’ve realized just how jaded it has made me. I guess that’s the same with any place you grow up in. When I’m in different states or cities outside my area, I find myself missing home and feeling like I don’t belong. There’s just something about the people, specifically in Southern California, that is different from anywhere else in the U.S. that I’ve been so far.
I find the people who live here really never leave and there’s rarely any turn around for new comers, probably because of the insane housing prices. It’s strange for me to even consider living anywhere else, but I guess I would have to adapt to it like anything in life. Now that I’m almost done with college it’s something I’ve thought about quite a lot because jobs can take you anywhere really. With that being said, taking advantage of the richness that this area brings is definitely something I want to do more of. Starting with my visit to Laguna Beach this past weekend. Probably one of the most picturesque scenes in all of Orange County. We had an amazing time sun bathing and enjoying the sounds of the ocean in this little cove. It’s days like these when I can’t imagine being anywhere else.
